Most businesses asking this question have had one quote and no way to judge it. Here is the honest range and the factors that move it.
The range
For fixed-fee project work, a financial model, business plan, valuation or diligence pack sits between **$800 and $4,500** depending on scope. Ongoing work (bookkeeping, payroll, management reporting) is priced monthly from **$800**, rising with transaction volume and the number of entities. See the [pricing page](/pricing) for how the tiers are built.
What moves the price
- **Number of entities and currencies.** A single-entity model is straightforward. A three-entity group with intercompany eliminations and multi-currency consolidation is a different piece of work.
- **Revenue complexity.** One product with one price is quick. Subscription tiers, usage billing, channel partners and deferred revenue each add build time.
- **State of your data.** Clean, reconciled accounts shorten the job considerably. If the first two weeks are spent making the historicals trustworthy, that is real work and it is priced.
- **Purpose.** A model for internal planning has a lower evidence bar than one going into an investor data room or a lender's credit committee.
- **Turnaround.** Compressed timelines cost more, because they displace other work.
What should always be included
Whatever you pay, the deliverable should include a documented assumptions sheet, scenario toggles, a written walkthrough, and a handover call. You should own the file outright and be able to maintain it without the person who built it.
If a quote does not say what you receive, it is not a quote. It is a starting position.
The comparison that matters
A full-time finance hire with the capability to build this work costs a multiple of an annual engagement once salary, employer costs, software and management time are counted. For most businesses under a certain size, the honest answer is that they need the output a few times a year, not a person at a desk every day.
Getting a real number
We quote in writing after a free 30-minute scoping call, itemised by deliverable, with the price fixed before work starts. We don't bill for that call. [Book one here](/contact).
